Corpus Christi

A play by Terrence McNally depicting the story of Christ’s life retold for a modern era. The play is set in Texas following the life of Joshua and the trials and tribulations he comes across as a teenager in a relatively closed community.

It is a beautiful story with comic undertones and a powerful message about being a good person and accepting people for who they are and not judging them for being different.

This show was performed at the Crawford Arts Centre, St Andrews in 2004 and again at the Fringe in 2005. It came up against some strong protests from a small number of people within the Christian community but was widely praised by all from every community.
